Outlook email accounts not restored

Hi, Fab,

I just finished a data recovery of Windows 7 Professional, and Outlook 2016.  I had not run Outlook prior to the restoration, and I have not run it yet.  I got the warning about "One or more IMAP accounts have been processed," and opened the Mail settings from the Control Panel, but neither of the accounts shows up.  The only things I see are the data file locations.  Any suggestions that could get the accounts to show up before I manually enter the account information?

I am using the latest version of Autobackup 6 Pro, 6.13.0.31425, updated using the update tool a couple days ago.

Thanks!

Lazarus

Re: Outlook email accounts not restored

I'm not sure, actually.  One account is through "sbcglobal," which is AT&T Internet's email, and used to be the same as Yahoo, so it could be either POP or IMAP.  I didn't check before the backup and wipe.  I suspect it's POP, but I could be wrong.

The second account is from icloud.com, which is IMAP.

Do POP accounts restore through Autobackup?

Re: Outlook email accounts not restored

This looks like a complicated setup. Well, I am setting up a Windows 7 virtual machine with outlook 2016 on it. I will add POP3 and IMAP accounts and see if there is something wrong.

Just to be a little more accurate, can you email me the archive\outlookpst folder's content to fab [at] fpnet.fr please? Just zip the folder without the PST and OST files.

Re: Outlook email accounts not restored

Thanks.
I got both and I could use it for the test. I have choosed to restore both OST and PST files and everything ran smoothly. I can see the icloud.com IMAP and the sbcglobal.net POP accounts.
Perhaps you should remove the "NoName" profile from the mail settings in the control panel and try another restore?

Re: Outlook email accounts not restored

Should I run the Autobackup 6 restore of the Outlook files only, and overwrite files of the same name, or did you mean something else?

If you delete the messaging profile, the OST file under %LocalAppdata%\Microsoft\outlook will be deleted automatically.
I suggest that you also delete the "c:\User\Documents\outlook files\outlook.pst" file prior to restore. This way, you are sure that the registry settings will be processed. And yes the 2 outlook files only are enough.
