AutoBackup on a failing HDD

I've been considering using AutoBackup 6 to pull important files off of failed/failing HDD's. Just curious how the software will respond to I/O failures if I try it. Will it re-try, move on, or freeze?

In case of severe failure, the copy process may freeze. If it does not but just fails to copy the current file a first time, it tries again using another method. If the second attempt fails to then it switches to next file and reports the failure in the log.
