[SOLVED] Speeding up a slow computer

I get a lot of "my PC is slow" clients, and my most efficient use of time is to re-install their Windows from scratch. This is usually coupled with a RAM and SSD upgrade.

If I used Fabs to restore or transfer data and settings, do I run the risk of restoring settings that made the computer slow in the first place? Does anyone use Fabs for this purpose?

Thank you!

Mike

Hi Mike,
That is impossible to to say it cannot happen since there can be malware within the files saved and restored. Malware usually slow down computers. There is a simple way to reduce the risk: have an up to date anti-malware program running one the fresh installed machine. This way, it should catch up the infected files on the fly.
There is no risk other than this one because Fab's AutoBackup only handles files and settings, never programs. Data alone is not harmful.

Regards,

Fab
