Has anyone tried to do a direct PC to PC transfer using one of the StarTech USB3LINK or USBC3LINK cables? Posts are conflicting. One post said drives are mounted on both ends. Other posts say you can only see the opposite site using the PCLinq or MS Easy Transfer software.

Fab's does not handle migration between two running computers. If you want to transfer files directly from a disk to another, source disk must have been pulled from old machine and plugged physically to the new one. There is no other way

That is what I figured given the way Fabs Autobackup pulls data. I still prefer transferring it up to a network share and then back to the new machine. I have bad memories of permission fixing when using the old drive directly. I know this is a Windows NTFS issue, not something related to Fabs Autobackup software. Thanks for making such a great tool.
