Trying to go from Win7/outlook 2013 to win 10 1903/outlook 2013 and having problems. have tried twice now fresh install of win 10 both times. Open outlook and it ask for users password, enter password click ok and outlook crashes. tries to start in safe mode next time crashes. go to control panel/mail and try to add the data files, crashes....
I did 2 users win7 office 2010 to win 10 office 2013 no problem. user is still using old pc with same outlook files no problem...
Any thoughts? I realize this may not be a fab's issue f course....I'd be happy for any suggestions.
Thanks!

I'm sorry I've never experienced something like that, so, that's difficult to me to sort this out. What kind of account are you dealing with?
Also, perhaps some software component (some kind of connector maybe) that's installed on the old machine and not on the new one is causing the crash...

It's office 365 hosted exchange email.
wouldn't have thought I'd have had a problem going 2013 to 2013.....
If I use my admin account office still works (IT has no profiles and starts right up) I suspect maybe its a profile problem. I'll see what I can find out.
Otherwise autobackup has saved hours of searching for files and settings....

Yes, 2013 to 2013 should be a no brainer. Just an idea, maybe stupid but as soon as it does not work for you right now, perhaps you could try to set full permissions to that Windows user account on "%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook" and "Outlook files" (this one is under my documents) folders and start Outlook again. If it still does not work, then I'm afraid you will need to setup this one manually

Solved. had to delete the exchange cache file (The.ost file) then it was all good. so not a fabs autobackup issue after all.
It truly is a fab-ulous piece of software though!
thanks!
