"Taking ownership of" of every map when restoring from a network share

Autobackup is taking forever "setting full access rights for administrators" / "taking ownership of" of every map (or file?) during restore
When the backup is on a network share in (version 7.3.1.2947).
This always worked fine in previous versions, in fact i'm restoring a backup made with 2947 using an older version

Re: "Taking ownership of" of every map when restoring from a network share

I guess you mean it's doing that for every file that's in the backup right ?
If so, that's absolutely not the expected behavior. I'm looking a it and release a fixed update ASAP.
I'll post back here when done.

Yes, i presume it's for every file.
First time i encountered this i copied the backup to an external usb harddrive and restored from there, as a workaround (and it worked fine without having to take ownership ..)

Re: "Taking ownership of" of every map when restoring from a network share

It looks like you are experiencing a bug when dealing with backups on a network. I'm fixing that blindly as I don't have such an issue on my end.
Actually I'm adding some piece of code that checks if the program is restoring from a network location. If that's the case, let's assume that we have required permissions to access files in backup, so, there's no need to check for permissions. This way, that test will be skipped and it will not try to set permissions on the backup, saving your time by the way.

Sorry for that!

Re: "Taking ownership of" of every map when restoring from a network share

Since I don't have the issue here, can you please give my development build a test drive to see if my fix works for your case ? If so, I'll send a link to your mail box. If it works for you, then I'll release it immediately.

Mail sent!
I'm ready to launch the rocket on your green light wink
- OK, a sluggish rocket (lol) since I'm using an ADSL connection with poor upload rate -
